Man Found Dead After Shooting At Deputies Serving Warrant
The Stafford County Sheriff's Office said they tried to negotiate with the man but he refused to leave his apartment.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A man who fired through his apartment's front door at deputies while they tried to serve a warrant for arson was found dead at the end of an hours long barricade situation on Saturday, officials said.
The Stafford County Sheriff's Office responded to the 2200 block of Green Tree Road at the Magnolia Falls apartment complex around 12:30 a.m. to serve the warrant. The sheriff's office said the suspect fired several times through the home's front door.
Deputies returned one round of fire before establishing a perimeter around the home, officials said.

Negotiators tried talking with the suspect for several hours but he refused to exit the apartment or talk, the sheriff's office said.
When deputies finally entered the apartment, the suspect was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officials identified the man as 43-year-old Keysean Hodges.
