Multi-Level Go-Kart Track Set For Grand Opening In Fredericksburg
The long-planned, multi-level go-kart track at Fun Land of Fredericksburg will hold its grand opening early next month.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA—The long-planned, multi-level go-kart track at the Central Park shopping center's amusement park—Fun Land of Fredericksburg—at 1351 Central Park Boulevard will have its grand opening noon-10 p.m. Saturday, June 8, per the facility.
The $1.2 million track, dubbed the Thunder 104.5 Speedway, is the first of its kind in Virginia. The track is 27-feet high and 1,872 feet long. It was built to replace the old Grand Prix Track. Pass holders will be able to experience the new ride June 7.
Clint Novak, Fun Land's general manager, told the Free Lance-Star that, "We just really wanted to put together an attraction that was going to be a staple for the Fredericksburg area, something that's not within 100 miles of here so people would say, 'Hey, we need to go to that go-kart track.' "
