Northern Virginia Weather: Temperature Dip Won't Last Long

STERLING, VA—Northern Virginia's work-week weather forecast is expected to feature a considerable amount of sunshine until Friday, but with highs struggling to reach 60 and lows in the 30s until a mid-week warming trend blots out a coldish front that arrived Sunday afternoon. So says the National Weather Service and other area forecasting outlets.

Monday begins with crisp temperatures, and breezy conditions should rule the day. Winds should decrease the next day, along with a slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Again, though, lows likely will be in the 30s.

But after that Tuesday blip, according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang: "Whatever its impact on us, that storm system should move away during the day on Wednesday, allowing the return of mostly sunny skies. The warming trend continues as well, with highs into the 60s and perhaps a bit of a breeze."
