Northern Virginia Weather: Work Week Looking Good

STERLING, VA—There's a lot to like about Northern Virginia's work-week weather forecast, what with sunshine having its say during much of the span, minimal chances of rain and highs in the 70s. That's the word from the National Weather Service and other area forecasting outlets. Early clouds on Monday won't last, and Tuesday should be darn-near picture perfect with teasing heat.

Then comes something of a question mark, according to the Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang: "With a cold front draped across the region on Wednesday, we could be in for some unsettled weather. The exact progression of the front will determine just how many showers and possibly thunderstorms we see, but many areas could see at least a quick shower."

Thursday (mostly sunny) and Friday (mostly cloudy) likely will feature highs flirting with the mid-70s. So there you go. Here's the detailed forecast from the National Weather Service's local bureau in Sterling:

Wednesday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 75. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 72.
