Police: Robberies of Chinese, Pizza Delivery Drivers Could be Related

Fredericksburg police say recent pair of robberies near Forest Village may have been executed by same suspects.

City of Fredericksburg Police are investigating what they believe to be two related robberies in the area of Forest Village apartment complex.

Both robberies occurred last week, according to police reports.

A 31-year-old delivery driver told police he was outside his vehicle about to deliver an order of Chinese food at 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 18 when he was approached by a male subject who took the bag of food from him in the 1600 block of Forest Village.

"The two had a brief discussion and the driver attempted to get the bag back, but the unknown subject threatened several times to hit the driver in the face with a large beer bottle," police reports said. "The driver then drove back to his business and notified the manager."

The offender was described as a black male in his mid-20s, approximately 5-foot-10 to 6-feet-tall with a slender build and wearing a reddish brown hoodie with the hood pulled up. The investigation is ongoing.

In a separate incident, a 23-year-old pizza delivery driver told police he was outside his vehicle with food in his hands at 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 21 in the 600 block of Forest Village when he was approached by four male subjects.

"The driver heard one of the subjects say something about the delivery, then the driver was suddenly tackled to the ground and all of the offenders began hitting him," police reports said. "During the assault, the victim heard someone make a threat about a gun but he did not see a weapon. The assailants stole the victim’s cell phone, cash from a pocket, and the food from the intended delivery before they ran from the scene."

The victim had minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

The victim was only able to describe one of the offenders as a black male in his mid to late 20s, approximately 6-feet-tall and 220 pounds, with medium length dreadlocks and wearing a black hoodie. This robbery is believed to be related to the above reported incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
