Police Investigating BB or Pellet Gun Incident at Fredericksburg Christian School

Three area schools were on lockdown as a result of the incident.

The City of Fredericksburg Police Department is investigating a report of teenagers that allegedly shot BB or pellet guns Tuesday towards an area where parents were waiting to pick up children at Fredericksburg Christian School.

Police responded to the school, at 221 Jefferson Daivs Hwy., at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

"A witness described seeing a black male and black female, both heavyset, in the wooded area near a playground," a press release from the department said. "The male was reportedly wearing a blue and white plaid shirt and carrying what appeared to be a handgun."

According to police reports, evidence of target shooting and BB pellets were discovered in the same area where the suspects were reported. Nobody was reported struck or injured, and the suspects ran from the scene prior to police arrival.

"During the incident, Fredericksburg Christian School, Walker Grant Middle School, and Lafayette Upper Elementary were all locked down," the release said.
