Rescue Me: Sophia, A Sweet Senior Dog, Has Lots Of Love To Give
Sophia, an adoptable dog at the Fredericksburg SPCA, is receiving treatment for heartworm, but will soon be ready to join a loving family.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Sophia is a senior dog who is now up for adoption at the Fredericksburg SPCA. Sophia is about seven years old, and she is currently receiving a life-saving heartworm treatment at the Locke Community Medical Center.
When Sophia was originally brought to the Fredericksburg SPCA, volunteers were told that she was pregnant and needed a safe place to have her puppies. It turned out that Sophia wasn't pregnant, but she was in desperate need of heartworm treatment.
Although she is still undergoing her heartworm treatment, Sophia still finds time to spread love with the SPCA's volunteers. "She has become a staff favorite for visits and snuggles," the SPCA said. "No one can resist her sweet eyes!"
