Robert Eugene Baumgartel, 51, of Fredericksburg Virginia, departed this earth on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Robert was born in Pennsylvania on July, 02, 1964 Robert attended school in Pearland, Texas where he spent the first half of his life. Robert was married to Lisa on September 22, 1984; they were best friends for over 31 years.
Robert was a lifelong carpenter and was employed by Childress Homes for 25 years. His love of building things continued despite his illness. Robert spent four years as an enthusiastic volunteer with the Chancellor High School Marching Band and Drumline in order to share his love of music with his son. Over the past several years, Robert’s second home became his camper. It was here he was able to spend countless weekends with his family and friends playing horseshoes, fishing, singing karaoke and taking his grandsons on golf cart rides. Robert had a true appreciation of the time that he was able to spend there, commenting often of how truly blessed he was.

Robert had a strong believe in his faith as a Witness and spent numerous hours reading his literature and Bible. As a child he spent a lot of his time going to service with his grandmother. Robert had the pleasure of helping his congregation build a new Kingdom Hall. Robert was a member of the Chancellor congregation.
Robert is preceded in death by his grandmother, Geraldine Christy; father’s Gary S. Baumgartel and Maurice D. McGee.

Robert is survived by his Wife, Lisa; his son, Robert (Bobby); his grandsons, Braiden and Augustus; his mother, Linda McGee; his siblings, Rhonda Pippin, Christi Childers, Danny McGee; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; his faithful companion Bruza and his extended Wilderness family.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 5, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
