Small Business Owner Helps Others Bounce Back From Pandemic
Doug Walton of Minuteman Press is helping other businesses in the area recover from the pandemic with the Bounce Back Fredericksburg program

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Doug Walton owns the Minuteman Press, an essential printing business in Fredericksburg. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Walton has given back to other businesses in the area through the Bounce Back Fredericksburg community program.
Bounce Back Fredericksburg was established to help small businesses during the pandemic. The program provides free COVID-19 awareness and prevention posters to businesses in Fredericksburg. They also operate a free advertising platform for local businesses.

So far, 60 Fredericksburg businesses have posted special offers on Bounce Back Fredericksburg's advertising forum. Walton believes that since the pandemic has been tough on the small businesses, local entrepreneurs should take advantage of any advertising opportunity.
"I would encourage every business owner to advertise more," Walton said. "Take advantage of Bounce Back Fredericksburg, start a direct mail campaign, or simply take a look at your marketing materials and make sure everything is professional."

Printing is an essential industry, so Walton's Minuteman Press location on Courthouse Road has been open throughout the pandemic.
"The response from the community has been incredible," he said. "They know we have been here for a long time, and they appreciate our ability to provide custom printing of all kinds to help keep people safe."
As restrictions begin to ease in Virginia, Walton is looking forward to the return of other small businesses in Fredericksburg. "As more and more of the local economy comes back, my message is to refocus and stay positive," Walton stated. "I hope my own positive attitude encourages my fellow business owners to realize we will get through this together and that brighter days are ahead."
