Snow Means Schedule Changes For Fredericksburg Area Schools

The snowstorm has Fredericksburg, Stafford and Spotsylvania County school administrators changing the schedule for Monday, Feb. 1.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Fredericksburg-area schools are dealing with a winter storm that is expected to bring 5 to 8 inches of snow to the area by Tuesday morning.

In anticipation of predicted inclement weather conditions, all Fredicksburg City Public School will be closed Monday, Feb. 1. The district has issued a Code Red for all 12-month staff. No meal distribution will be held.

Only maintenance workers should report.

  • Stafford County Public Schools buildings will be closed. Administrative offices will open at 10 a.m. All staff will work from home. Parking lots must remain empty for snow removal. Meals are unavailable. Feb. 1 is a scheduled staff professional day.
  • All Spotsylvania County Public Schools and buildings will be closed on Monday, Feb. 1. The district said 12-month employees are Code 1. The School Board Meeting scheduled for Monday, has been moved to Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 6:30 p.m.
