Sondra Anne Stoddard, 62

Sondra Anne Stoddard, 62, of Spotsylvania, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016 at Mary Washington Hospital after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Sondra was born on October 3, 1953 in Tecumseh, Michigan to Robert John Braun and Yvonne Joan Smith. She graduated in 1970 from Manchester High School. After traveling around Michigan, Sondra ended up in Saginaw. Through mutual friends, she met Richard. Rich asked her out three times, and by the fourth time, she said yes. They were together from that point on for the rest of their lives.

Sondra was proud of the friendships made over the course of her life, especially in the last 23 years she worked at GEICO.

Survivors include her husband, Richard A. Stoddard; sons, Eric Stoddard (Meredith) of Bowling Green and David Stoddard of Spotsylvania; daughter, Danielle Samyn (Tim) of Saginaw, Michigan; four grandchildren, Kilpatrick, Tatum, Jered, and Garrett; her mother, Yvonne Walker; and brothers, Jerry Braun and Ron Braun, all of Michigan.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 17 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
