Updated: Two Dead in McLaws Place Apparent Murder-Suicide
Capt. Mike Harvey said his office is not seeking suspects in the shooting.

Update 5:17 p.m.: Capt. Harvey said in a phone call to Patch that the shooting in the 8300 block of S. McLaws Place in Spotsylvania is being investigated as a murder-suicide.
Harvey said that the department received a 911 call at 1:19 p.m. Monday for shots fired. "When deputies arrived on scene they found a male and female deceased in the driveway," said Harvey. The male and female were son and mother, Harvey said.
Identities of the deceased have not been released as deputies are still working to identify next of kin, Harvey said.

Harvey said the deceased 43-year-old man is the suspect in this case.
A third victim, daughter of the female victim, was found at a next door neighbor's house with gunshot wounds to her arm and abdomen, Harvey told Patch.

Update, 3:35 p.m.: Harvey said two persons were shot and killed on McLaws Drive and a third is being treated for gunshot wounds at a nearby hospital.

The Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office is working a shooting in which three people were shot on McLaws Drive on Monday afternoon.
The department's Capt. Mike Harvey said in an email at 2:58 p.m. the Sheriff's Office is not seeking suspects in the shooting.
Information on the status of the victims is not yet available.
