Stafford NAACP Peaceful Protest March (Stafford NAACP)

Join the Stafford NAACP as they host a Peaceful Protest March at 4 pm on Sunday, June 7, at the Stafford County Courthouse, 1300 Courthouse Rd. Listen to speakers and then march from the courthouse to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Public Safety Center. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and for the safety of everyone, masks or face coverings will be required. Free masks and t-shirts, 100 of each, will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. This will be a peaceful demonstration, so no weapons of any kind will be allowed. This includes items that can be used as weapons or objects that can be thrown.

However, we do recommend you bring the following:

1. Backpack, to carry the following...
2. Water (not only to drink, but to flush out eyes if needed) and snacks
3. Face masks or face covering.
4. Hat and/or sunglasses, and a change of clothes, or at least an extra shirt.
5. Hand sanitizer, wet wipes and a towel, or cooling towel.
6. Cash, ID, phone and maybe a power bank.
7. Duct tape or gaffer's tape, flashlight, ibuprofen, hair ties, pen and paper, Sharpie, bandages or other first aid supplies.
8. Copy of emergency phone numbers and a card declaring necessary medical information that someone may need to know if you're unable to tell them yourself
9. Medications that need to be taken on a schedule.

Wear good walking shoes, and we also recommend wearing all black, including long pants and long sleeve shirts, and don’t forget your protest signs. Even though this is a peaceful protest, there is always the possibility that something not considered peaceful may occur. But the Stafford NAACP will do all that it can to keep it peaceful.
