Tornado Warning Issued For Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania County
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Fredericksburg and central Spotsylvania County.

SPOTSYLVANIA, VA—The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for northwestern Spotsylvania County until 7 :45 p.m. Thursday, May 30. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 8 miles west of Spotsylvania, or 13 miles west of Fredericksburg, moving east at 40 mph.
Per the NWS: "Take cover now! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a Mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris."
At 7:33 p.m., a confirmed tornado was located over Massaponax, or 7 miles south of Fredericksburg, moving east at 40 mph. Two-inch hail reported. For those in the direct path of a tornado touchdown, flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Damage to roofs, siding, and windows may occur. Mobile homes may be damaged or destroyed. Tree damage is likely.
