Virginia Gas Shortage: Where To Find Gas Around Fredericksburg
Panic buying after a cyberattack prompted a temporary pipeline shutdown has prompted gas shortages throughout VA. Here's how to find gas.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Drivers in Fredericksburg and throughout Virginia are finding a rude awakening at gas stations this week. Panic buying following a cyberattack and temporary shutdown of a regional pipeline has led to widespread gas shortages in the region.
As of Wednesday afternoon, 53 percent of Virginia's nearly 3,900 stations were without gasoline, up from 7 percent Tuesday afternoon, according to GasBuddy.
Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam declared a state of emergency Tuesday to help the state prepare for potential supply shortages. The emergency declaration also allows state authorities to crack down on price gouging of gas and fuel.

Drivers can scout ahead for fuel by using online tools, such as the website and phone app Gas Buddy, which has updates on stations that still have gas supply and those that are running low.

According to GasBuddy, most of the gas stations in Fredericksburg are offering limited fuel options. Some stations only have diesel, and others only have gas. The following stations are out of gas, as of Thursday afternoon:
- 7-Eleven, 2143 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Stafford
- Wawa, 15 Eustace Rd, Stafford
- This location has diesel, but no gas.
- Exxon, 280 Garrisonville Rd, Stafford
- Sunoco, 201 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg
- Express Food Mart, 2010 Princess Anne St, Fredericksburg
- 7-Eleven, 905 Lafayette Blvd, Fredericksburg
- Wawa, 2390 Plank Rd, Fredericksburg
- BP, 2307 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg
- Shell, 2301 Plank Rd, Fredericksburg
