Libraries in Fredericksburg and surrounding counties are holding holiday events that appeal to both young and old.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Libraries in Fredericksburg and surrounding counties are holding holiday events that appeal to both young and old. Every branch of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library (CRRL) system has a holiday event on the schedule, which means residents won't have to travel far to enjoy holiday crafts and celebrations.
The CRRL, established in 1969, serves as the library system for the counties of Spotsylvania, Stafford, Westmoreland, Caroline, and the city of Fredericksburg. The library system has 10 branches: Fredericksburg Branch, Howell Branch in Stafford County, Porter Branch in Stafford County, Fried Center Branch in Stafford County, Salem Church Branch in Spotsylvania County, Snow Branch in Spotsylvania County, Towne Centre Branch in Spotsylvania County, Cooper Branch in Westmoreland County, Montross Branch in Westmoreland County and Newton Branch in Westmoreland County.
One of the main events of this holiday season will be the Colonial Christmas Open House at the Fredericksburg Branch at 1201 Caroline Street. The open house, scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. will bring representatives from area organizations together to share early American Christmas traditions. The George Washington Foundation, James Monroe Museum and Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park are among the organizations represented at the event.
