Year After Upset, Cavaliers Claim NCAA Championship: Top Photos
A year after the lowest of lows, Virginia experienced the highest of highs after beating Texas Tech for the NCAA men's basketball title.

A little more than a year ago, the University of Virginia suffered humiliation of the lowest order when it lost by 20 points against the University of Maryland-Baltimore County in the opening round of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. Never before had a 16-seed knocked off a No. 1 seed.
Fast forward to Monday night, April 8, in Minneapolis. All the Cavaliers did was turn their tale of woe upside down with an 85-77 overtime win over Texas Tech for the national championship. It was the program's first NCAA title and redemption of the highest—and sweetest—order for the players and coach Tony Bennett.
