DC Region Vaccine Availability Site Started By Alexandria Teen

An Alexandria teen's website tracks vaccine appointment availability in the DC region.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Finding out where and when to get the COVID-19 vaccine have been sources of confusion for residents in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area. One Alexandria teen has a solution to help others know where to go.

As reported by NBC Washington, Alexandria's own Sawyer Thompson, 14, started www.dmvvaccine.com to connect people with vaccine appointments. Using coding, Thompson provides links to the different vaccine scheduling options in DC, Maryland and Virginia and the current status of availability. There is also a live Twitter feed associated with the website.
