Man's Death Investigated As Homicide In Mount Vernon Area
Fairfax County Police say a man was found with upper body trauma.
MOUNT VERNON, VA — Fairfax County Police are investigating a homicide after a man was found dead in the Mount Vernon area Thursday.
A resident found the deceased person lying under brush, leading police to respond around 10:14 a.m. to the 7900 block of Janna Lee Avenue. The medical examiner preliminary ruled the death a homicide on Friday. Evidence showed the man suffered upper body trauma. Detectives believe the man had been dead in the area days before being found.
The man was identified as Tafari Nadhim, 30 of Maryland. The victim also went by the name Trey. This was the 11th homicide in Fairfax County this year.
