FHYAA Team To Honor Jackson Casey Today With A Run

A Fort Hunt Youth Athletic Association Lacrosse team, the Mohawks, will be honoring Jackson Casey with a run around Fort Hunt National Park today at noon.  

The team invites FHYAA families and members of the community to come participate. Players and community members will also be able to contribute money to the Jackson Casey Memorial fund at the run.

“It was the custom of the Native American tribes of the East that when a comrade fell they would ‘run’ to honor his courage, his memory and his spirit,” said a statement on the Lacrosse program’s website.  “Jackson Casey’s Ft. Hunt team, last night, decided they would follow in this tradition.

Date: Sunday, April 3rd.

Time: 12 p.m.

Where: Fort Hunt National Park right off of the George Washington Memorial Parkway
