A neighbor alerted the residents of the fire
Fairfax County firefighters put out a house fire on the 2600 block of Childs Lane, Thursday night. The fire started on the back porch of the residence at around 11:20 p.m.
Firefighters were on the scene about five minutes later and took about 20 minuets to subdue the flames, a public information officer said. No injuries were reported.
Kristi Long, who lives across the street from the house, said she first noticed the fire when she heard “popping sounds.”
