Mount Vernon Fireworks: June 30 and July 1, 6 p.m.

What better place to celebrate Independence Day than at the home of our first President? Come out for an evening of fireworks, mansion tours, musical performances and games. General and Mrs. Washington will be attending, and you can explore the estate while trying fun activities like bocce ball, 18th -century dancing and more. Plus you can see demonstrations on making 18th century ice cream and see a rare up-close glimpse of Washington's tomb. The Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant will be selling food and drinks. Admission with a mansion tour is $34 for adults and $24 for children, and without a mansion tour is $30 for adults and $20 for children.

Torpedo Factory's Pop-Up Skate Park, 7 p.m. - midnight
On the street, 105 N Union Street
Torpedo Factory will be featuring a pop-up skate park and will sell skateboards with Alexandria's famous Masonic Temple. Come out for live art demonstrations and more.

Saturday Cinema At Carlyle: July 1, sunset

July 1 kicks off the monthly outdoor film festival every Saturday from July to October. Top Gun is the movie for July. Alexandria's Nice Cream, which opened in April on King Street, will be on site on July 1 serving up their specialty ice cream made from local ingredients and liquid nitrogen. The Popped!
