Greater Alexandria 4th Of July Fireworks, Events: 2020 Guide
Mount Vernon's fireworks event is full, but there are ways to celebrate the holiday.
MOUNT VERNON, VA — July 4 events across the country will not look the same this year thanks to the coronavirus. Many cities and towns have been forced to cancel the annual Fourth of July events, but Mount Vernon's fireworks is one of the few remaining in the region.
Mount Vernon's fireworks event on June 27 is sold out. However, an event called an American Celebration is planned for July 4. The event includes a George Washington reenactor inspecting troops, followed by a reading of the Declaration of Independence. The event is rain or shine, and cost is included in Mount Vernon admission.
George Washington's Mount Vernon reopened to the public on June 21. The reopening will happen in phases, and there are safety guidelines for visitors.
