Heroin Found on Suspect Stopped on Richmond Highway: Police

Police found heroin during a traffic stop Thursday night on Richmond Highway, police said Monday morning.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police found a suspect in possession of heroin during a traffic stop one night last week on Richmond Highway, police said Monday.

Thursday night, around 11:25 p.m., police were in the 8700 block of Richmond Highway (see map below), when officers saw someone in a car who they recognized as having several outstanding warrants, police said. A traffic stop was conducted and further investigation revealed the driver, Lavonte Hamilton, 19, of Alexandria, was in possession of heroin. He was arrested and charged with possession of heroin.

The passenger, Moises Molina, 26, of no fixed address, had five outstanding warrants on file; he was taken into custody so the warrants could be served. Both men were taken to the Adult Detention Center.
