Hollin Meadows Teacher Discusses Oceanic Research Expedition
Jason Pittman participated in a live broadcast chat about his time spent on the Nautilus research ship.
People from around the country peppered Hollin Meadows Elementary School science teacher Jason Pittman Tuesday afternoon with questions about his time spent with the JASON National Argonaut program.
This fall, JASON National Argonaut participants went aboard the Nautilus research ship, which explores oceanic history and climate. The ship transmits live video and other data from the expedition for scientists and spectators to see 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. (See photos for some of the images.)
During the live broadcast Pittman and fellow student Argonaut participant Erin Walsh from Southlake, TX , answered questions about the type of biology they saw underwater, the physical capabilities of the Nautilus, and what it was like being with scientists from around the world.
