Man Arrested For Firing Gun Inside of Home
Also: someone allegedly stole a gun from a residence in Fort Hunt

The following incidents were reported by the Mount Vernon Police District Station between July 20th and July 27th.
Fort Hunt Crime
Police arrested a man for allegedly firing a gun inside of a home during a fight on Wednesday, July 27th at around 9:49 p.m. The shooting occurred on the 7800 block of Fordson road. The victim, a 23-year-old male, was treated at the scene for minor injuries he received during the fight. Gregory Flowers, 20, was arrested and charged with maliciously discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling.

- Police say beer was stolen from a business on the 7900 block of Fort Hunt road.
- Police say a gun was stolen from a residence on the 2500 block of Parkers Lane.
Mount Vernon Crime
Police arrested a man in Mount Vernon for allegedly shooting at an acquaintance and her friend at around 11:48 p.m. on Monday, July 25th. The shooting occurred near the intersection of Woodpecker Way and Audubon Avenue. The victims, a 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, were not injured. Duane Wayne, 32, of the 7800 block of Eagle avenue, was arrested and charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle, shooting from a vehicle and malicious shooting at a vehicle.

Police say a 39-year-old man died after he was struck by a car as he crossed the southbound lanes of Richmond Highway on Thursday, July 21st. See full story .
Police say a woman was robbed on the 7800 block of Richmond Highway on Monday, July 25th at around 1:15 p.m. The suspected allegedly implied he had a weapon and demanded money, afterward he fled. He was described as Hispanic, between 17 and 19 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, and 140 pounds. The description says he wore a navy blue cap, a white shirt and blue jeans.
