Mass COVID Vaccination Site In Alexandria Seeks Volunteers

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Volunteers are being recruited for the mass vaccination site in Alexandria that serves City of Alexandria and Fairfax County residents.

Fairfax County is seeking volunteers on behalf of the Inova Stonebridge COVID-19 Vaccination Center at 5001 Eisenhower Avenue in Alexandria. The mass vaccination site run by Inova is administering doses to 4,500 people per day, and that number is expected to grow as supplies and eligibility expand. Appointments are offered to eligible residents who registered for the vaccine through the Alexandria or Fairfax County Health Department.

The mass vaccination site needs volunteers Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for at least 42 days starting on April 12. Two shifts are offered per day with positions including exterior directional flow, line management, patient access assistance, pharmacy runner, patient monitoring area (non-clinical), vaccination station assigner, and welcome position.

Volunteers must undergo a criminal background check, be fluent in English, be able to stand for long amounts of time, and be able to push an adult in a wheelchair. The minimum age is 18.
