Mount Vernon Area New Year's Eve Events: 2019 Guide

MOUNT VERNON, VA — 2019 is coming to a close, and there are plenty of ways to celebrate the new year. Whether you prefer staying at home to watch the ball drop in TV or heading out to celebrate at a local party, we have you covered.

New Year's Eve at the Mount Vernon Inn: 4 p.m.-8:45 p.m. on Dec. 31

First Night Alexandria: Dec. 31

This family-friendly event features local performers and children's entertainment at venues around the city. Beginning at 10 p.m., head to Waterfront Park for the "Rockin' on the River" dance party with DJ Ray Casiano, food trucks, prizes and a fireworks finale at midnight sponsored by MGM National Harbor. Tickets are required to enter First Night Alexandria venues, but fireworks viewing is free outside the "Rockin' on the River" party.

Big Night DC New Year's Eve Extravaganza: 9 p.m.-3 a.m. on Dec. 31 to Jan. 1

The dockside patio will transform into a party venue for New Year's Eve.
