Mount Vernon Fall Wine Festival: Sample Wines, Tour Wine Cellar

Do you love wine and history? You don't have to choose between the two at the Mount Vernon wine festival.

MOUNT VERNON, VA—This year's Mount Vernon Fall Wine Festival & Sunset Tour promises samples from 19 local wineries, live music and more entertainment. The event is planned for Oct. 5-7 at George Washington's Mount Vernon estate, 3200 Mount Vernon Highway, Mount Vernon.

Visitors can lay out blankets on the lawn facing the Potomac River and relax while tasting different wines. The Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant will have hot and cold foods available for purchase.

Exclusive tours of the mansion will be offered, which includes a look at Washington's own wine cellar. Live music is scheduled for all three days: David Bach Consort on Oct. 5, Nightlife Trio on Oct. 6 and Bruce Ewan and the Solid Senders on Oct. 7.
