Mount Vernon Fireworks To Happen Ahead Of Fourth Of July 2020
The event will operate with limited capacity to allow for social distancing and require face coverings.

MOUNT VERNON, VA — George Washington's Mount Vernon has scheduled Independence Day fireworks ahead of the holiday on Saturday, June 27. The event will have a limited capacity so guests can practice social distancing.
The event will happen between 6 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. with performances by the National Concert Band and a five-minute firework display over the Potomac River. Face coverings will be required, and guests are asked to maintain six feet from others. Guests may bring blankets to watch the fireworks.
Food and drink will be available for purchase at the event; outside food is not permitted. There are also two picnic items for pre-order. The pre-packaged box for two guests is $28 and comes with a fruit and cheese box, half baguette, hummus, freshly made cookies, and a bag of Route 11 chips.The premium picnic basket for four guests is $130 and includes a picnic basket, blanket, fruit and cheese box, charcuterie box, baguette with a side hummus, Route 11 large bag of chips, pasta salad, Italian sub and a chicken salad sandwich.

Tickets are $30 to $40 for Mount Vernon members and $35 to $45 for non-members. Parking is free parking, and gates will open at 6 p.m.
The fireworks will also be streamed live on Mount Vernon's YouTube channel between 9 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.
