Mount Vernon Police: Two Teenage Girls Arrested For Car Theft

Also: Police say a man was robbed while exiting his car

The following incidents were reported by the Mount Vernon Police District between March 23rd and March 30th.

Police arrested two teenaged girls, ages 14 and 15, for stealing a 2010 Dodge Caravan. The incident occurred on the 7800 block of Richmond Highway around 11: 30 a.m. on Wednesday.  Police say the vehicle had been left running in a parking lot when it was stolen. Police located the suspects in the car nearby and released them to their parents. Police say petitions charging each suspect with grand larceny will be obtained.

Police say a man from Washington, D.C. robbed a 22-year-old man as he was exiting his car in Hybla Valley last Friday.  The incident happened on the 7500 block of Richmond Highway just after 11 a.m. Police charged Devonte Wallace, 30, with robbery.
