Mount Vernon Sobriety Checkpoint Yields No Arrests

County police officers checked Mount Vernonites for drunk driving on Saturday.

The Mount Vernon Police sobriety checkpoint, designed to catch intoxicated drivers, yielded no arrests on Saturday.  Four summonses were issued for miscellaneous traffic offenses.

The checkpoint was operated by Fairfax County police officers and auxiliary officers on Saturday, April 23 from 11:30 p.m. until 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Around 770 motorists passed through the checkpoint in the southbound lanes of Richmond Highway near the intersection of Fairhaven Avenue.
