Mount Vernon's Spring Wine Festival Moved To Summer
The popular wine festival and sunset tour will be held on three days in July.
MOUNT VERNON, VA — Mount Vernon's popular Spring Wine Festival & Sunset Tour has been moved to the summer due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
The new festival dates are July 16 to 18 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for Mount Vernon members and will go on sale to the general public on May 3. General admission and VIP tables are available.
During the event, guests can bring a blanket to the east lawn overlooking the Potomac River and sample wines from Virginia wineries. Those who choose VIP tables get admission for up to 12 people and private waiter service on the east lawn. A George Washington reenactor will be present to greet guests. The Mansion will be closed during this event.

COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed during the event. This year, there will be two tents instead of one to allow for social distancing. Wineries will have space and tasting stations arranged to discouraged crowding.
Guests should maintain six feet of physical distancing and wear a face covering indoors and outdoors when social distancing cannot be maintained. Mount Vernon staff provide enhanced cleaning of high-touch areas, and hand sanitizer stations are located around the estate.
