New Park Opening Delayed, Portside In Old Town Still On
The Portside In Old Town will happen in another location due to the construction delay for the new Alexandria park.

ALEXANDRIA, VA—Flooding has caused a delay in construction of the new waterfront park. The park is now expected to open in the late fall. The Portside in Old Town festival on Oct. 12-14 will still happen but is moved to adjacent spaces. Portside in Old Town's new location is the current Waterfront Park (1A Prince Street) and the Alexandria City Marina (0 Cameron Street).
Other changes include the Port City Brewing Company's waterfront beer garden happening only on Friday to Sunday, Oct. 12 to 14, Saturday, Oct. 20 (Seaport Day) and Saturday, Oct. 27. The beer garden will happen at Waterfront Park (1A Prince Street).
Friday dates for tours of tall ship Goodspeed are now available. Tours are first-come, first-serve and not ticketed. Dates are Friday, Oct. 12 from 3 p.m.-6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13 from 1 p.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday Oct. 14 from noon-5 p.m.

The free Portside in Old Town festival will offer history, art, music and fitness and other activities for all ages. The festival activities include free tours of the tall ship Godspeed, a waterfront beer garden from Port City Brewing Company, a pop-up Pizzeria Paradiso, live music and more.
A final opening date for the new park has not been announced.
