Police: Armed Man Attempts Robbery in Mount Vernon

Also: Four teenagers were arrested for stealing a car

The following incidents were reported by the Mount Vernon Police District station between July 6th and July 9th.

Police arrested four teenagers for stealing a car on the 4000 block of Blue Slate Drive. The robbery occurred on Wednesday, July 6th at around 8:30 a.m.  Police say an officer located the suspects with the car on the following day.  Police charged Lorton resident Silvester E. Hawkins, 18, with grand larceny. Hawkins was taken to jail, but the three juveniles, a 15-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, were released to their parents.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man for robbing an acquaintance during an argument on Thursday, July 7th at around 11:10 a.m.  Police charged Senanu K. Amendome, of the 4700 block of Deer Run Court, with robbery.  The 39-year-old female victim did not require medical attention.

Police say an armed man attempted to rob man on the 2700 block of Fort Drive.  The incident occurred on Friday, July 8th   at around 12:45 a.m. Police say the suspect was described as white, between the ages of 20 and 25 years old, and about 6 feet tall. He had a thin build and beach-blond, curly hair. He wore a black T-shirt and dark jeans. Police say the 28-year-old victim did not require medical attention.
