Police: Attempted Robbery of Food Delivery Man

The following incidents were reported by the Mount Vernon Police District station between July 13^th and July 20^th.

Fort Hunt Crime

Police say copper was stolen from a business on the 8400 block of Brewster Drive.

Police say bicycles were stolen from a residence on the 8200 block of Clifton Farm Court.

Police say a bicycle was stolen from a vehicle on the 2500 block of Sherwood Hall Lane.

Mount Vernon Area Crime

Police say three males robbed a 36-year-old man in Mount Vernon last Monday night. The robbery occurred near Audubon Avenue and Ladson Lane at around 10:40 p.m.  Police say the suspects were described as black, between 16 and 18 years old and about 130 pounds. The victim was transported to the hospital for non life-threatening injuries.

Police say a man attempted to rob a 48-year-old food delivery man in Mount Vernon Wednesday night.  The attempted robbery occurred on the 8300 block of Central Avenue at around 10 p.m.  Police say the suspect was described as Hispanic, between the ages of 18 and 22 and between 5 feet 10 inches tall and 6 feet 2 inches tall.  He had brown hair and brown eyes. The victim was not injured.

Police say a 43-year-old man suffered serious injuries when he was assaulted and had his car stolen in Hybla Valley Tuesday night. See the.
