Police: Man Attempts Robbery of 50-Year-Old Woman at Knifepoint
Also: Beer was stolen from a business in Fort Hunt

Mount Vernon Area Crime
Police arrested a man for cutting an acquaintance on the 2700 block of Mennifield Court. The incident occurred during an argument on Thursday, August 4 at around 4 a.m. Raymond Tillman, 21, of Alexandria, was charged with malicious wounding. The victim, a 19-year-old woman, was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police say a teenage boy robbed a 50-year-old man on the 2100 block of Fairfax Terrace. The incident occurred on Sunday, August 7 at around 10:05 p.m. The victim was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police say a man attempted to rob a 50-year-old woman at knifepoint on the 8400 block of Richmond Highway. The incident occurred at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, August 8. Police say the suspect fled without taking anything. He was described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and between 185 to 200 pounds. He was between 18 and 30 years old. Police say his face was covered and he was wearing a black T-shirt and black jeans. The victim was not injured.
Police say a man robbed a 12-year-old boy of his iPod and headphones on Tuesday, August 9 at around 9 p.m. The robbery occurred on the 2800 block of Groveton Street. Police say the suspect was described as black, in his early 20s, between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall and about 150 pounds. The victim did not require medical attention.
