Police: Man Stabbed in Attempted Robbery
Police say jewelry was stolen from a Fort Hunt house

The following incidents were reported by the Mount Vernon Police District station between July 9th and July 13th.
Police say a man stabbed a 32-year-old man during an attempted robbery near the 7100 block of Groveton Gardens Road. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 12th at around 3 a.m. Police say the suspect was described as black, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 pounds. He wore shoulder-length hair in dreadlocks. Police say the victim was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police say a man burglarized a Mount Vernon home on Tuesday, July 12 at around 4:42 a.m. The home was located on the 3400 block of Austin Court. A police investigation determined the suspect entered through a partially open garage door, but that nothing was stolen. The suspect’s face was painted but he was described as about 6 feet tall and 150 pounds, wearing black clothing.
