Police: Maryland Woman Charged with Bribery of a School Official

Angeline Nkar, 38, of Maryland, allegedly gave a school official cash on April 3 in an apparent attempt to influence a personnel decision. Nkar was arrested on Monday and charged with bribery of a school official.

Police: Woman Robbed by Juvenile in Mount Vernon

A 44-year-old was retrieving her cell phone from her vehicle Monday when a juvenile brandished a knife and demanded her purse. The victim fled and was not injured. Several officers, a helicopter, and a K-9 team searched for the suspect. A 13-year-old suspect was located and charged with armed robbery.

Construction on Insight Huntington Metro Begins 

Construction has begun on the Insight Huntington Metro project located at North Kings Highway and School Street in Alexandria.

According to the Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation (SFDC), Insight Property Group began construction in February on the apartment building on a 3.38-acre site.
