Shots Fired Outside Quality Inn; No Injuries Reported
Police say gunshots hit the hotel in Groveton over the weekend but did not cause injuries.

GROVETON, VA—Police are investigating shots fired outside a hotel in Groveton early Sunday. There were no injuries reported.
Around 2:15 a.m. Sunday, police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of the Quality Inn (7212 Richmond Hwy). Officers found several shell casings in the parking lot and in a nearby fence. The building had damage, but the bullets did not penetrate through the wall.
The investigation continues.

7900 block of Eagle Avenue, 11/4/17 around 12:30 a.m. A woman was walking home when she was approached by two teenaged girls. They demanded money and began assaulting her. A citizen intervened and was able to hold the two girls until police arrived. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center and charged with attempted robbery.
