Top Five Most Dangerous Intersections In Mount Vernon

In the wake of the recent fatal crashes on Richmond Highway in Lorton, we've compiled a photo gallery of the five most dangerous intersections in the Mount Vernon Police District. 

Many of these intersections have high accident rates due to high volume traffic, according to Officer Eggers of the Traffic and Safety Division of the Fairfax County Police Department.

Here are the top most dangerous intersections based upon the number of accidents:

1. Backlick Road and Richmond Highway
2. Telegraph Road and Richmond Highway
3. North Kings Highway and Richmond Highway
4. Sherwood Hall Lane and Richmond Highway
5. Mount Vernon Memorial Highway and Richmond Highway (tied for fifth)
6. South Kings Highway and Telegraph Road (tied for fifth)
