Tornado Watch Issued For Fairfax County Until 8p.m.
Fort Hunt could also see thunderstorms tonight.
The National Weather Service has issued an extended Tornado Watch for Fairfax County and surrounding areas until 8p.m. tonight.
A Tornado Watch is issued when severe thunderstorms and tornadoes are possible in a designated area, according to the National Weather Serivce.
The service says there is a “slight risk” of severe thunderstorms late tonight. Expect rainfall to total less than a tenth and a quarter of an inch tonight. Temperatures are expected to be around 68 degrees with winds between 13 and 16 mph.
