"Many neighborhoods within the Route 1 corridor suffered higher levels of COVID-19 disease, and have limited access to health care resources that has contributed to lower rates of vaccination," Sharon Arndt, director of community health development at the Fairfax County Health Department. "This program, which offers both vaccine and transportation during weekend hours, makes it as easy as possible for people in the area to get vaccinated.

Questions about the vaccine can be directed to the health department's call center at 703-324-7404, and coronavirus questions can be directed to 703-267-3511. The call centers are open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
