New Cafe Opening In Harrisonburg With A Mennonite Connection

For eaters interested in avoiding processed foods or pesticides and industrial scale farming, this could be your new favorite restaurant.

Clean eating is the new craze - not meaning fat free, or low calorie, or any of that, but going back to the cooking methods and ingredients that our ancestors used. The Mennonites, being Amish-lite, saw this growing trend and have found the perfect way to capitalize on it.

They already eat like that, and have all of their lives. Farm to table, no artificial flavors, no pesticides or glyphosate or chemical fertilizers. Two years ago, they set aside a portion of one of their farms and dedicated it specifically to supplying the kitchen for their new restaurant in town, opening in June: The Blessed Table.

As a bonus, they offer family menus, intended for families with 2 to 4 kids, and the offerings are fantastic. Ranging from stews, roasts, savory pies, and salads, there will be something guaranteed never touched by a microwave, or roundup weedkiller for every one to enjoy.
