Jeremy Hall's wife remembers slain correctional officer (wdbj7.com) — Residents in and around Independence are mourning Master Corrections Officer Jeremy Hall, remembered by his wife as a kind, selfless Elk Creek native whose smile lit up their Grayson County farm. Hall was killed November 17 while reportedly protecting a nurse at River North Correctional Center, and his widow is now channeling her grief into advocating for safer prison policies and sustaining the farm they built together.
