• Stanley man indicted for abduction, assault and malicious wounding (pagevalleynews.com) — Page County’s latest grand jury session in Luray returned 26 indictments, including several serious charges against residents from Luray, Stanley, Shenandoah and nearby towns. Allegations range from abduction and malicious wounding to child abuse and multiple drug possession counts, with court dates set through early 2026. These are indictments only, and all named individuals remain presumed innocent.
   

• Applications open for Shenandoah National Park's Artist-in-Residence program (whsv.com) — Luray-area artists and creatives can now apply for Shenandoah National Park’s 2026 Artist-in-Residence program, which offers several weeks of lodging, a stipend, and quiet mountain time to work. Selected artists must donate one piece to the park and lead two public programs for visitors or youth groups. Applications are open through Jan. 13, 2026 on the SNP Trust website.
