• Rawls says he'll release details about Martinsville city manager report as early as January (cardinalnews.org) — Martinsville City Council member Aaron Rawls says he plans to share key details from the investigation into former City Manager Aretha Ferrell-Benavides’ firing as early as late January. He’s coordinating that timing with a special prosecutor’s ongoing probe and a forensic audit, saying residents deserve clearer answers about what’s happening inside Martinsville’s government.
   

• Martinsville Police Chief Chad Rhoads aims to reduce crime and secure more funding (wset.com) — Martinsville’s interim police chief, Chad Rhoads, has been officially promoted to chief and will take over the role on Jan. 1, bringing 25 years of local experience. He says his top priorities are reducing crime and securing more funding, and plans to lean on strong relationships with city council and other department heads to get it done.
