• Split Purcellville Council Approves $50K Salary for Latest Interim Manager (loudounnow.com) — Purcellville’s Town Council has approved nearly $50,000 for a 90‑day contract with Interim Town Manager Anthony Sabio, deepening an already sharp split on the dais. Supporters say he’ll bring unity and fresh leadership, while opponents and residents question the rushed hiring, added cost amid a budget deficit, and the decision to replace acting manager Diana Hays. The interim contract runs through Feb. 11.
   

• State Decertifies Nett as Law Enforcement Officer (loudounnow.com) — Purcellville Vice Mayor and former police officer Carl “Ben” Nett has been decertified as a law enforcement officer by Virginia’s criminal justice agency, though he can appeal. The move follows his earlier firing from the Purcellville Police Department, a contested grievance process, and ongoing felony charges he faces alongside Town Manager Kwasi Fraser. Both are due back in court Jan. 8.
