• $35K grant funds new heart monitors for Va. county ambulances (gov1.com) — Tazewell County’s ambulance crews, including those serving the town of Tazewell, are getting new Lifepak 35 heart monitors thanks to a $35,000 Appalachian Power Foundation grant. Officials say standardizing this advanced equipment across every ambulance will improve CPR support, vital-sign tracking, and communication during emergencies, ensuring residents receive consistent, high-quality care anywhere in the county.
   

• Tazewell County man arrested for multiple charges (wvnstv.com) — Richlands police in Tazewell County arrested a 21-year-old local man after responding to reports of a masked person refusing to leave a resident’s porch. Officers say video and evidence indicate he burned part of the porch with a torch, tried to steal a portable heater, and possessed brass knuckles; the investigation is ongoing and all parties are presumed innocent.
