• King William says farewell to departing supervisors Hodges and Bancroft (dailypress.com) — Longtime District 1 Supervisor Bill Hodges, who represented West Point and helped secure funding for the town’s pavilion and library renovation, has retired after a decade on King William’s Board of Supervisors. Colleagues praised his 62 years of combined public service, including years as West Point’s police chief, while also recognizing outgoing District 5 Supervisor Mary Sue Bancroft.
   

• Stanley Wayne Brewer, 80, of West Point (wydaily.com) — West Point is mourning the passing of 80-year-old resident Stanley Wayne Brewer, remembered as a devoted family man and active community member. A Celebration of Life will be held January 17, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home on 11th Street, with donations invited to local West Point charities in his honor.
